Kisai Original Blend No.2

Kisai uses only top-grade tea painstakingly grown by the Yamaguchi family of Hoshino village to achieve the very best in both colour and flavour.
This white-green tea has a full-bodied, deep flavour with a good amount of astringency that is typical of traditional teas.

How to brew a good cup of sencha tea.

  • Bring the water to a boil, transfer it to a yuzumashi bowl, and allow it to cool to 60°C.
  • Put one serving (2 to 3 g of tea leaves) into a teapot and add 80 to 100 cc of the hot water.
  • Allow the tea leaves to infuse for about 1 to 2 minutes, then pour the tea into a teacup. (The key is to pour out every last drop.)
  • Start with a low temperature to get the full flavour of the tea. By gradually raising the temperature of the water, you can bring out the tea’s astringency and bitter characteristics, and enjoy three or four cups. (65-70°C).
